Professional Face and Body Painters
A few months ago I had a chance to work with an awesome photographer named Julian Vankim and a model named Kimberly Weigend. Here is a little video that Kim put together from that day. Fun stuff!
After 3 months away, I am now back in the USA. It’s nice to be “home”, but I look forward to getting back to Australia as soon as possible. This time however, I need to wait for approval for my Prospective Partner Visa, which apparently can take up to 7 months. :/
As for my stay in Australia…it was pretty amazing. I really wouldn’t know where to begin, so I’m not going to. Suffice to say, it is completely different to everything I’ve grown accustomed to. Just taking a walk down the street to the local store to pick up some ice-blocks (popsicles) seems like an adventure. I’ve always been one to find great enjoyment in the simple everyday things.
Nina and I finally met…that went great! I fell in love with her and her children, as well as the rest of her family. I’ve never felt so welcome and so much at home with another family. I miss them all very much and am looking forward to getting back there ASAP.
Till then….
I will be staying at my mother’s house in Newark, DE. It’s a cozy place, though I’m not used to living “at home”. It’s taking some adjusting for all of us. I’m in the process of looking for some work around town, both as a face painter, or as an employee of one of these businesses. I really just need to have something to do with my time for these next several months. Newark is a pretty cool little college town, so getting work as an “adult” face painter might not be too difficult. We’ll see how that goes.
I think that’s about all I have to say for now. I will try to update more regularly to let everybody know how things are going.
Take care. :)
It’s been a while since my last update. I just wanted to pop on and let everybody out there know that I am alive and well and living in Australia. Nina and I have been getting along splendidly and have been hard at work preparing our ideas for our workshops and other business ventures. I’ve just added a new page to the webpage which is little bit about our workshops we want to run. As with everything else, this will continue to evolve and grow…this is just the beginning.
I am very happy here. Nina is beautiful, Australia is beautiful. :)

I will be holding a workshop at Michelle Heffner’s house in Columbia, MD. LAST CHANCE BEFORE I LEAVE FOR AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!
“I have learned that there is a great deal more to learn while painting and assisting than there is by just sitting back and watching.”
This is a hands on workshop!
Brady will be “painting” you through some of his full body paintings, while you paint along with him and brainstorm. These designs will all be created on the spot by you and him, as Brady explains his thought process in detail. There will be emphasis on technique, but it will be mostly focused on the “creativity behind creation.” This will be an exercise on letting go of the old patterns and pulling more from the moment.
*PROFESSIONAL MODELS will be provided as well as a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER to capture this event for use in your portfolios.*
*PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER Julian Vankim has agreed to come out for the day and take picture!!* Check him out at www.Julianvankim.com

Each one of us is a unique being, with a unique vision of the world. This means that each person has the potential to create something completely different from anything else in the history of our universe. It doesn’t matter what your skill level is, how long you’ve been practicing, how many techniques you know, or how precise you are. If your work eminates from within it will be pure, it will be honest, and it will be beautiful.
Inspiration is growth, expansion, evolution.
Imitation is stagnant, dormant, lifeless, dead, inert, lazy.
“It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.” - Herman Melville
Inspiration-
1. an inspiring or animating action or influence: I cannot write poetry without inspiration.
2. something inspired, as an idea.
3. a result of inspired activity.
4. a thing or person that inspires.
5. Theology .
a. a divine influence directly and immediately exerted upon the mind or soul.
b. the divine quality of the writings or words of a person so influenced.
Imitation-
1. a result or product of imitating.
2. the act of imitating.
3. a counterfeit; copy.
4. a literary composition that imitates the manner or subject of another author or work.

Written into a poetic death,
As most would describe,
She walked along, tall and proud,
And wasn’t one to moan.
Yet, unexpectedly,
She grew sick of the envy she had
For couples around, even though she knew,
She knew she was loved,
She just wished the ones she loved,
Would know what she felt.
So, with the last breath she had,
She ended what pitiful life
She thought she lived
And pulled the trigger
Of a shotgun
with her big toe.
She thought to herself,
Perhaps a ghost will become of me.
Engraved on that lovely drab rock
That marked where her decaying body lie,
Clearly defined is ‘so full of life, it spilled into limbo.’
And so she stays,
In the same room she tried to escape,
Forever caught in a paradox of pain.
Perhaps she could have lived
And been able to forget
The pain she encountered.
‘So full of life, it spilled into limbo.’

My big news now is that, as the title says, I’m going to Australia. How did this come about? Well…….
Last October after my magazine article was released in issue 13 of Illusion magazine, I started getting a number letters and friend requests from people. Most of these letters were typical one liner Facebook style comments, “saw your work, good stuff.” As nice as it is to hear from people, even in quick little blurbs like this, sometimes it’s nice to receive a letter with a little more time and effort put into it. It feels a little less anonymous and actually makes me feel like the person actually cares about getting to know me.
One person who wrote me during this time period was a woman by the name of Katherina ‘Nina’ Megaloconomos, who happens to live in Australia. After reading her very sweet letter I went to her Facebook page and checked out her work, as I often do when I meet a new person. Looking at her work I immediately noticed that she was painting from a very special place within. Sometimes you can just tell when people are in touch with something greater than this world.
Anyway…..my mind is a little distracted, so I’ll make this brief….maybe
Since then Nina and I have continued to keep in contact. We had both expressed interest in working together one day. Eventually we decided to go beyond the letter writing and started sending videos back and forth….we do live a technological age after all. We shared bits and pieces of our lives with one another. I showed her a little bit around Charles Town, the lake, and a quick home tour. She did the same for me. It was cool to see some of the places around her town that she likes to frequent….and I finally got to hear her Aussie accent, which I was most excited about.
So, needless to say, we have become closer and closer over the past several months and it has now become time to meet face to face. So the plan is this, I am going to fly to Australia and stay there for 3 months. During this time Nina and I are going to be teaching workshops together and working hard to see what kind of business and life we can form together. If and When everything goes splendidly, we will decide what to do from there. We both have very similar ideas on what we would like to do with our art and how we would like to go about achieving our goals.
We paint for the highest purpose and we will do great things.
Let’s see…where to begin?
FABATV!!!! That was a really fun trip. I got picked up at the airport by Marcela and she drove me directly to the Sillyfarm headquarters and store. On our drive, she told me all about her start in the business, and how Sillyfarm came to be.
The actual Sillyfarm headquarters are INCREDIBLE! If you get the chance to check it out, do it. AND, everybody who works there are so incredibly kind and welcoming.
I crashed at Andrew and Christina Sutton’s house that night. Had a great talk with Andrew, a really nice and very intelligent man. He told me about the creation of the LED contact lens that would eventually allow people to pull up a computer screen in their line of vision. CRAZINESS!
The next morning I headed back to Sillyfarm. John Place, the man in charge of video taping my classes, had everything pretty much ready to go. The studio there, if you haven’t seen the classes, is another sight to behold. The technology in that little room is mind blowing. So much so, that I can’t even begin to describe it. My brain doesn’t work that way. I will say though, that the cameras being used……ok, so this tiny little camera is about 3 feet from my face, with a lens that is about the size of the tip a straw, and yet, somehow it manages to capture an area of about 8 feet! This is all the craziness of our ever expanding understanding of technological possibilities. As I say, it’s beyond me.
Anyway, we filmed two classes, each one taking about an hour. I feel like they went pretty smoothly. I certainly had a good time painting and being filmed. Apparently I was “very organized and ready to go.”
So, at the end of the day myself, Glori Nieves, Heather Banks, Heather Aguilera, John Place, Glori’s daughter Lia, and Heather’s son all went out to dinner at some crazy Hooters type Mexican restaurant. Good food, but honestly, I could do without the waitresses in their short shorts walking around. I really just don’t understand that.
After dinner I went back to the Sutton’s place. Had another fascinating conversation with Andrew, then went to bed. The next morning Christina drove me to the airport…………….and that was pretty much my trip. it was quick, in and out.
P.S. I have received a few letters from people who have watched my first class that is up. Their feedback has been positive so far, which I am happy about. I hope to do this again soon. AND I’m always looking to improve, so if you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know.
